3 - WIRE THREAD MEASURING SYSTEM
The traditional three-wire method is the
most accurate method of measuring
the effective or pitch diameter of an
external screw thread. Unfortu-
nately in the past, holding and cor-
rectly positioning three wires
against a thread while simulta-
neously taking an accurate mea-
surement had been an extremely
cumbersome task. Now, thread
Check's-3 Wire thread measur-
ing system provides a simple
and precise way for determining
the pitch diameter for threaded
parts and thread plug gages.
Thread measuring holders are
precision made to predetermine
thread pitches. Thread measur-
ing wires are held in a predeter-
mined position by light pres-
sure clips. The holders rotate freely
on the spindle of the measuring
device so as to engage the lead angle
of a thread.
Thread Check's
holders and wires are
supplied in special packag-
ing for protection and visibility.
Certification is in the bottom of the
clear case for convenient access.

Vertically adjustable platform for supporting and
positioning threads between anvils of micrometer.

Knurled screw knob for locking platform in position.
•
Exclusive "U" track for maintaining wire holders in
the ideal position for engaging the lead angle of a
